Envolved is an AI-powered document assistant that lets you have conversations with your documents. Upload files, import from URLs, or connect cloud storage - then ask questions and get answers with citations back to your source material.

Traditional AI chatbots answer from their training data (essentially, "the internet"). Envolved answers ONLY from your uploaded documents. Every response includes citations you can click to verify - so you know exactly where information came from. No hallucinations, no made-up facts, just grounded answers from your content.

No. If you can upload a file and type a question, you can use Envolved. The complex AI technology runs behind the scenes - you just have conversations.

  1. Sign in with your Google account
  2. Create a "Stream" (a collection for your documents)
  3. Upload files or import from a URL
  4. Wait for processing to complete
  5. Start chatting!

Documents & File Types

  • PDF documents
  • Word documents (DOC, DOCX)
  • Plain text files (TXT)
  • Markdown files (MD)
  • URLs - Any public webpage
  • ArXiv - Academic papers
  • PubMed - Medical and scientific literature
  • Google Drive - Files from your Drive

Most documents are ready within 1-5 minutes. Factors that affect timing:

  • Small PDFs (under 10 pages): 1-2 minutes
  • Large PDFs (50+ pages): 3-5 minutes
  • Websites with multiple pages: 3-10 minutes

Yes, though text-based PDFs work better. Scanned PDFs rely on OCR (text recognition), which may affect accuracy.

Some sites block automated access. Login-required pages and dynamically-loaded content may not work. If a URL fails, try a different page from the same site or save the content as a PDF.

Streams & Organization

A Stream is a collection of related documents that you can chat with together. When you ask questions, Envolved searches all documents in that stream.

Stream Groups are folders for organizing your streams. Use them to group related projects, clients, or topics.

Create separate streams when:

  • Documents are about different topics
  • You want focused conversations
  • Different projects need isolation

Add to existing streams when:

  • Documents are related to each other
  • You want to search across them together
  • They're updates to existing content

Chat & AI

Envolved uses RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation):

  1. Analyzes your question
  2. Searches your documents for relevant passages
  3. Provides those passages to the AI
  4. Generates an answer using ONLY the found content
  5. Adds citations linking back to sources

Citation numbers link to the source documents. Click any citation to see:

  • The exact text that was used
  • Which document it came from
  • Where in the document it appears

Common reasons:

  • Documents are still processing (check for "Ready" status)
  • The information is worded differently than your question
  • The document is very long and the section wasn't retrieved

Try rephrasing your question or being more specific about what you're looking for.

No - by design. Envolved is "grounded" in your documents, which means it can only cite information from your uploaded content. This prevents hallucinations but means you need relevant source material.

  • Standard (1-3 seconds) - Quick factual lookups, single search pass
  • Agentic (3-8 seconds) - Complex questions, multi-step reasoning
  • Deep Research (10-30+ seconds) - Thorough analysis across all documents

Use Standard for quick questions, escalate to deeper modes when needed.

Voice Chat (Live Mode)

Live Mode lets you talk to your documents instead of typing. Tap the microphone, speak your question, and hear the answer - hands-free.

  1. Open a chat in a stream with "Ready" documents
  2. Tap the microphone button
  3. Wait for "Connected"
  4. Start speaking - no buttons to hold

No. Live Mode uses automatic voice detection. Just speak naturally and pause when done.

Yes. Start speaking anytime to cut off the assistant's response. This is called "barge-in."

Check:

  • Microphone permissions are granted
  • Your mic isn't muted
  • The microphone is working (test in another app)

Try refreshing the page if problems persist.

Absolutely. Start with text, switch to voice, go back to text - it's all one conversation.

Privacy & Security

Yes. Your documents and chats are private to your account and cannot be seen by other users.

No. Your documents are not used to train or improve AI models.

Deleted documents are removed from our systems. They will no longer appear in search results.

Envolved uses Google Sign-In for secure authentication. Your Google credentials are handled by Google - we never see your password.

Troubleshooting

  • Check your internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page
  • Clear your browser cache
  • Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • Check that the file isn't corrupted
  • Ensure the file size is within limits
  • Try a different file format (e.g., convert DOC to PDF)
  • Check your internet connection

  • Check if there's a service issue
  • Confirm documents are fully indexed (Ready status)
  • Try different search terms or phrasings

Account & Billing

Click "Sign In" and use your Google account. Account creation is automatic.

Envolved is currently in private beta. Join the waitlist to get early access.

Yes. Cancel anytime from account settings. You'll retain access until the end of your billing period.
